Selkirk Golf and Country Club’s Amenities
Selkirk Golf and Country Club is a well maintained facility that has three sets of tees. The course plays anywhere from 5761-6520 yards, to a Par of 71 for Men and 73 for Women. Almost every fairway is tree lined, giving a traditional parkland feeling. Our greens traditionally run at a speed of 10 on the stimp meter and are known for their many undulations. Seldom will you have a flat or straight putt at Selkirk.
Our front 9 has holes that are well treed and possess small greens. The back 9 are similarly treed, play longer and the greens become more generous. All greens are noted for their subtle breaks and are a challenge to putt on.
When playing the par four 11th you will need a very long and straight tee shot to make the corner of the dogleg. If you fail to accomplish this you will most certainly be scrambling for par as you will have a very poor “look” at the green. It is Selkirk’s most difficult hole.
The most scenic hole on the course is the 16th. This par three has an elevated tee which looks out over a fairway surrounded by mature forest. The narrow green here is well protected by bunkers and is difficult to hit in regulation.
Our clubhouse sits on a hill that overlooks the Red River. We have a beautiful veranda where you can watch the action on holes #1 and 18. Our food is very tasty, well prepared, and is reasonably priced.
The proshop, found in the lower level of the clubhouse, has a bright and cheerful staff eagerly waiting to serve anyone’s request.
The driving range, located by the parking lot, has both a grass tee and mats to hit off.
The halfway house located after 1, 9 and 17 offers an assortment of refreshments and food to ensure the round is an enjoyable one. There is also a mobile beverage cart to meet your needs during the round and they accept major credit cards.
